Taylor Swope’s Official Fare Thee Well Poster

GD_GFD1010PS_new_2048x2048

Taylor Swope is one of the amazing artists who has contributed to Global’s celebration of the final Grateful Dead Fare Thee Well shows this week in Santa Clara and Chicago.

As an artist and designer of one of the official Fare Thee Well posters, Little Hippie’s Chief Executive Artist Taylor Swope is among the lucky few who will be attending all of the final Grateful Dead performances – last weekend in Santa Clara, California, and this weekend in Chicago.

Taylor’s official Fare Thee Well posters, previewed above, will be for sale at the merchandise stores inside Soldier Field as they were at Levi’s Stadium, along with a children’s t and a women’s tank top she designed. You can also find her work in the showbills for each performance.

Taylor was the only female artist whose work was included in the entire line of official merchandise for the Fare Thee Well shows.

5000 lithographic prints of Taylor’s Fare Thee Well poster were printed by Global Merchandising.

Iron Maiden Announce New Album “The Book Of Souls”

The Book Of Souls – coming September 4th.

IRON MAIDEN’s eagerly awaited new studio album The Book Of Souls will be released globally on 4th September through Parlophone Records (Sanctuary Copyrights/BMG in the U.S.A.). It was recorded in Paris with their longstanding producer Kevin “Caveman” Shirley in late 2014, with the finishing touches added earlier this year. However, the band decided to delay its release so that vocalist Bruce Dickinson, who was recently given the all-clear from a tumour, would have time to recuperate sufficiently to join in the preparations for the album’s launch.

The stunning cover art was created by Mark Wilkinson who has worked with the band previously, and because this 11 track album has a total running time of 92 minutes, it is IRON MAIDEN’s first ever double studio album. There’s a broader split on the song-writing compared to previous Maiden records, with bassist and founder member Steve Harris contributing to seven of the tracks; 6 of them with Maiden’s guitarists and one sole composition. This is also the first time since 1984’s Powerslave that an IRON MAIDEN studio album also features two tracks written solely by Bruce Dickinson, one of which is the longest song Maiden has ever recorded! And also two Dickinson/Smith collaborations.

Steve comments,

“We approached this album in a different way to how we’ve recorded previously. A lot of the songs were actually written while we were there in the studio and we rehearsed and recorded them straight away while they were still fresh, and I think that immediacy really shows in the songs, they have almost a live feel to them I think. I’m very proud of The Book Of Souls, we all are, and we can’t wait for our fans to hear it, and especially to take it out on the road next year!”

Bruce continues,

“We’re really excited about The Book Of Souls and had a fantastic time creating it. We started working on the album in late summer 2014 and recorded it at Guillame Tell Studios in Paris, where we’d done the Brave New World album back in 2000 so the studio holds special memories for all of us. We were delighted to discover the same magical vibe is still alive and very much kicking there! So we immediately felt at home and the ideas just started flowing. By the time we’d finished we all agreed that each track was such an integral part of the whole body of work that if it needed to be a double album, then double its going to be!”

The Book Of Souls is the band’s 16th studio album since their eponymous debut in 1980 charted at #4 in the UK, in a career achieving sales of over 90 million albums worldwide. Their previous album, 2010’s The Final Frontier was Maiden’s most successful chart-wise to date, reaching Number One in 28 countries and was their highest chart debut in the U.S reaching #4 in the Billboard 200.

Due to Bruce’s illness the band had to delay touring plans but promise to be out on the road again early next year, giving time for Bruce to make a full physical recovery to be ready for the rigours of Maiden live performances.

SLAYER REVEAL ‘REPENTLESS’ ALBUM ARTWORK; TITLE TRACK TO GET DIGITAL GLOBAL RELEASE FRIDAY, JUNE 19th!

Today, Slayer unveil the album artwork for their 11th studio album, Repentless, due out 9/11/15 (Nuclear Blast). The artwork was created by Brazilian artist Marcelo Vasco in collaboration with the band’s Tom Araya and Kerry King.

“We had a number of submitted ideas for the cover artwork,“ said Araya. “And we felt Marcelo’s was the best. We made some suggestions and the result is an awesome album cover.“

The band also announces that the album’s title and first official track will be available digitally virtually everywhere (Amazon, iTunes, Google) around the globe this Friday, June 19.

“’Repentless’ is my Jeff tribute,“ said SLAYER’s Kerry King. “I call it the ‘HannemAnthem.’ It’s my perspective of Jeff’s perspective, it’s what I think…if Jeff wrote a song for himself, ‘Repentless’ would be it.“

Arrogance, violence, world in disarray
Dealing with insanity every fuckin’ day
I hate the life, hate the fame, hate the fuckin’ scene
Pissing match of egos, fuck their vanity*

Motörhead To Release Their 22nd Studio album BAD MAGIC on August 28th

In their 40th Anniversary Year, the band also announces 40th Anniversary European tour in the Fall with more dates internationally to follow.

Freedom to believe don’t have a price
Innocence never gets too old
You need a bolt of rock
Severe toxic shock
Electricity deep in your soul
“Electricity” – Motörhead

After 40 years rattling teeth, bones and ears with their legendary rock’n’roll, you might excuse Motörhead if they wanted to ease off.

Put their feet up.

Relax a little.

But that’s just it…

…this is Motörhead.

And instead, Motörhead gleefully say a loud and hearty ‘bollocks’ to that sort of feeble-minded thinking with their 22nd studio album, Bad Magic. Bristling with thunderous attitude, pioneering spirit and some of the fiercest rhythms and riffs that’ll beat your ears into submission this year, Bad Magic is a massive kick in the teeth for anyone who dared believe it might be otherwise. Indeed, if those people still remain, they would do well to grab some big fat earplugs, fall to their knees and pray like buggery, because big-rig head crushers like “Thunder And Lightning” and the especially l-o-u-d “Teach‘Em How To Bleed” show that Motörhead are as strong, mean, loud, relentless, uncompromising and goddam heavy as ever.
Drawing on their own vast catalogue of road-warrior freewheeling rock’n’roll spirit, Bad Magic also strides confidently into some of the earlier attitudes of Motörmusic. Written and recorded in the studio together, for the first time in the Kilmister/Campbell/Dee era, the more ‘live’ approach to creating Bad Magic has obviously paid dividends in this regard. There is the driving malevolence of “Choking On Your Screams”, with Lemmy in magnificently omnipotent vocal mood, “Electricity” carries a hefty chunk of punk attitude married with some of Phil Campbell’s best lead work in years, while “Shoot Out All of Your Lights” is all devilish, greasy biker-borne-screw-you-and yours, Mikkey Dee’s tribal drums pounding out a great path for more Kilmister proclamations. The boys even enjoyed a guest appearance from Queen’s Brian May on “The Devil”, adding a scintillating solo on this thunderous Motörstomper.

Produced at NRG Studios with long-time producer Cameron Webb, Bad Magic came together after a couple of years which saw Motörhead enjoy their most successful international era in over two decades off the back of their last release Aftershock. Lemmy also finally decided to face the fact he is flesh, blood and mortal like all of us, adjusting his lifestyle to kick the ass of health-issues and re-emerging stronger, leaner and meaner than ever. His own personal performances on Bad Magic rank as some of the most wide-ranging and unique he has delivered in years, and on the ballad “Until The End”, Lemmy opens up with equal levels explanation and intent on the simple but important matters which life conjures for us all. Add to all of this a wonderfully executed, gritty delivery of The Rolling Stones classic “Sympathy For The Devil”, and it will be clear to anyone with a pair of ears that Bad Magic is Motörhead’s finest work in over two decades.

You can also expect the road to get its ass-kicked by Motörhead once again in the last half of 2015! Starting in mid-August, there will be a North American tour with Anthrax which ends with the now-legendary Motörboat cruise between Sept 28th – Oct 2nd from Miami, Florida to Nassau in the Bahamas, also featuring Slayer and Anthrax among a bumper line-up of bands. And Motörhead’s 40th Anniversary European Winter tour will start on November 15th 2015 at Le Zenith in Paris, ending on December 6th at the Hartwell Arena in Helsinki, Finland. More dates will be announced soon, so keep checking the band’s official website Official Motorhead Website as well as the following social media platforms for details.

All in all, with Bad Magic’s release now confirmed, Motörheadbangers and rock’n’roll fans worldwide can prepare themselves for the prodigal return of rock music’s greatest, meanest, dirtiest and most relentless trio…yeah, believe it: Motörhead proudly, and defiantly, remain the flag you’re proud to fly through thick and thin.
